Meta’s Threads is a micro-blogging platform and it was introduced earlier this year to compete with the X platform (formerly known as Twitter). In this users can share short text in the form of “threads.” Along with text updates, you can also share messages, photos, videos and post links. You can also join over your favourite topic on public conversations. If you are already using Twitter, then you have familiar with thread. If you have an Instagram account, then you can directly sign up to the Thread. Through your Instagram account you can instantly signed into your account. If you don’t have an Instagram account then you have to create an account to use this app.
Two New Changes are Coming on Threads
From starting it was getting a good response from the user, but after that many users had problems and that was you couldn’t delete your Threads profile without removing your Instagram, too. If you want to delete your thread account, then you have to delete your Instagram account. However, Meta has finally respond to this issue and introduce some changes related to account deletion.
Adam Missouri, the head of Instagram, announced that two new changes are coming onThreads platform. From that two changes, the most notable one is that you can finally delete your Threads account separately without deleting your Instagram profile.
First Change on Threads App
With this new update by Meta you can now delete your Threads account separately. Users can choose between the two options deactivating or deleting their profile and in both the cases Instagram profile will not be affected. With this new changes, users can gain better control of their online presence on Instagram and Threads.
- If you want to delete your Threads account, then open your Instagram account and go to the Settings.
- Open the Settings and select the option Accounts.
- In Accounts, select the option Delete or Deactivate Profile.
Second Chance on Threads App
With this new update another change was made and that is privacy-related change. The contents that are uploaded on Threads can now see people on other social media apps from Meta that is Facebook & Instagram. Users get a higher overall reach, with this new feature.
- Users can found this new Privacy setting for their content posted on the Threads app under Settings.
- For this first go to the Settings and then go to the Privacy. Here you will see the new option and that option allow users to ‘opt out of being featured outside Threads,’as the update-related notes from IG’s head Adam Missouri mentioned.
