Central Cabinet Approves New National Education Policy: Know Details!

The new education policy proposed by the Government of India has been approved by the Union Cabinet. After 36 long years, the new education policy is going to be implemented in the country.

There will be no more board exams in 10th. Board will be held in 12th class only. Up to Std-5 students will be taught only mother tongue, local language and national language. In remaining classes, English will be taught as a subject along with full English or regional languages. Earlier the board exam was mandatory in 10th, it will not be anymore. The examination will be conducted in semesters from 9th to12th classes. School education will be taught according to 5 + 3 + 3 + 4 formula.

The Remarkable Points of the New Education Policy (New Education Policy-2023) are:

  • 5 Years of Basic Education.

1. Nursery starts at 4 years of age.

2. LKG at 5 years of age

3. UKG at 6 years of age

4. Std-I at 7 years of age

5. Std-II at 8 years of age

  • 3 Years Preparation

6. Std-III at 9 years of age

7. Std-IV at 10 years of age

8. Std-V at 11 years of age

  • 3 Years Average

9. Std -VI at 12 years of age

10.Std- VII at 13 years of age

11.Std-VIII at 14 years of age

  • 4 Years Secondary

12.Std-IX at 15 years of age

13.Std-X (SSC) at 16 years of age

14.Std-XI (FYJC) at 17 years of age

15.STD-XII (SYJC) at 18 years of age
