ABHA Health Card | Features, Benefits, Eligibility and How to Apply For It

The Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana, was launched by the National Health Authority (NHA), which is part of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. Under this scheme eligible candidates will get the Ayushman Bharat Card or ABHA card that eligible them to get the Free Treatment up to ₹5 Lakhs in state government and private hospitals with whom central government have contracts.

What is ABHA card?

The Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA) is a unique health ID which was earlier known as Ayushman Bharat Health ID is developed by the Indian government, that uses a 14-digit identification number. It can be generated using an Aadhaar card or your mobile number. It allows users to share their health records digitally with hospitals, clinics, insurance providers and others. ABHA card holder get the Free Treatment up to ₹5 Lakhs in state government and private hospitals with whom central government have contracts.
Citizens can create their unique ABHA without any cost.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Families with Lower Income Group
  • Applicants should fall under the EWS Class or the SC/ST Category
  • Beggar or homeless person can register for the program.
  • Anybody working as a Majdur or Daily Wage Worker

How to apply for ABHA?

  • An eligible candidate can generate ABHA card using Aadhaar card, Driving license or mobile number.
  • First, go to the ABHA website and click on “Create your ABHA”.
  • After that you will get the two options “Create your ABHA number using Aadhaar” and “Create your ABHA number using Driving Licence”
  • If you want to create your ABHA number using Aadhaar card then click on first option.
  • Then, enter your Aadhaar number, scroll down click on “I agree”, enter the captcha below and then, click on “Next”.
  • After that an OTP you will received to your registered mobile numbe, enter that OTP and click on “Submit”.
  • Then, enter your mobile number and click on “Submit” and you will be shown the details that have been fetched using your Aadhaar card.
  • Verify your details and click on “Submit”. After that you will be able to download your ABHA card.
