What is Labour Card?
To support the livelihood of the unorganised worker like those who are working in agriculture, construction of buildings, industries, etc. government of India and all the state governments have issued an Identity Card to support them and their families. This card is known as a Labour Card.

Types of Labour Card:
There are two type of labour card issued by istate government.
- Building Card
- Social Card
Building Card: A Building Card is issued to the unorganised worker, those who are worked under the supervision of a licenced contractor. These cardholders nearly can get the all of the scheme’s benefits.
Social Card: A Social Card is issued to the unorganised workers, those who are involved in non-building work, agriculture, and farming. Beneficiaries of these cardholders can entitled to Health Insurance Benefits.

Eligibility Criteria
- Must be a Indian Citizen.
- Applicant should be aged between 18 to 40 years.
- Applicant should be an unorganised worker.
- Should not be employed in the organised sector or a member of EPF/NPS/ESIC.
- Applicant monthly salary should not be more than Rs.15,000.
- Applicant must not be an income taxpayer.
- Applicant must be a resident of the state in which he/she will be applying for.

How to Apply for a Labour Card Online?
- To apply for a labour card online you have to first visit the official website of your state’s labour department.
- Then, search the option ‘New Labour Card Registration’ and from the drop-down menu, select your District.
- After that Provide your details such as your first name, last name, email address, and mobile number.
- Then, enter your Aadhaar card number.
- Verify your mobile number and email address and last click on ‘Submit’.
