Christmas Gift of State Government: Increase in Salary of Government Employees and Pensioners

According to the information, DA has been increased from 3 percent for about 9 lakh employees and pensioners. This decision will be effective from the previous date of July 1, 2024. According to the Gujarat State Services (Revision of Pay) Rules, 2016, the Finance Department has issued a proposal to increase the DA from the current 50 percent to 53 percent. The arrears between July and November will be paid in January 2025 along with December salary and pension.
All state government and panchayat employees, teaching and non-teaching staff in secondary and higher secondary schools and non-government school staff under the 7th Pay Commission will benefit from this DA hike. With appropriate revisions, the same benefit will be available to primary teachers and employees working on deputation or transfer in Panchayats who have received approval for pay revision as per the Commission.
