Taking a tough stance against delays in LPG cylinder delivery, the Odisha government on Tuesday 16th July 2024 directed distributors and dealers to ensure timely refills within 48 hours of booking.
Now the cooking gas cylinder will reach the consumer within 48 hours of the gas order. Action will be taken against the distributor or dealer if the gas does not reach the consumer within the stipulated time. After a meeting with the Petrol, Diesel and LPG Dealers Association, this important information was given by the Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Minister Krushna Chandra Patra.
The government’s move comes amid growing concerns over the inconvenience faced by consumers due to delays in the delivery of cooking gas cylinders. The Minister stressed that dealers must prioritize prompt service delivery, failing which strict action will be taken.
Similarly, there will be no arbitrage on petrol and diesel. Regular inspection of petrol tanks, if adulteration is found, then immediate action will be taken. Minister Mr. Patra said that all these decisions have been taken by giving priority to providing better services to the consumer.
