E-Passport | Indian Government To Issue E-Passport In 2022-2023

According to finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman India will soon going to issue E-Passport with embedded chips in 2022-2023. During Budget speech Nirmala Sitharaman stated that E-Passport will begin to issuing. It will serve the same role as the regular passport but the only difference is E-Passport will included with embedded chips and cutting edge technology. Previously the secretary of ministry of external affairs Sanjay Bhattacharya already announced on his Twitter that India would soon going to receive E-Passport with secure biometric data. Sanjay Bhattacharya also stated that this E-Passport would follow the guidelines and compliant with the International civil aviation organization (ICAO). This E-Passport would hold secure biometric data , that ensure you the simple travel through immigration posts around the globe.

E-Passport will include embedded chips. That microchips with crucial security data would be included in that E-Passport. This E-Passport will be produced by India security press in Nasik. According to external affairs minister India is in talk with the India security press over microchips. Indian passport users are now issued only printed passports. This E-Passport is accessible in many countries like USA, UK, Germany.

E-Passports are same as standard passport but it will be more secure than the standard passport because it includes electronic chips. The information in the printed passports and in electric chip will going to same. All the detail information of passport holders like name, date of birth, signature and other information would be stored in that electronic chips.

This E-Passport would be more beneficial for the tourist. They don’t need to stand on a line in front of immigration booth for long time. Physical verification may take more time than to scan E-Passport. If you compare physical verification with E-Passport verification at immigration counter , the E-Passport might be scanned in minutes. This scanning also helps to reduce false passport issued and also tampering with the stored data of microchips will be difficult.

Already over the 129 nation has adopted this concept of E-Passport and they already have biometric E-Passport system. The nations like USA, UK, Germany adopted this E-Passport concept.
