The government has made full preparations to provide relief to billions of mobile users of the country from cyber fraud. The government is preparing a list of people who will not be given SIM cards again. According to the new SIM card rules, the Department of Telecom (DoT) has started taking strict action.

Recently, as per the new rules of TRAI, a campaign has been launched to prevent fake calls and messages. Lakhs of mobile numbers have been blocked after reporting. According to a report by CNBC Hour, the Department of Telecommunications has started preparing a blacklist to prevent cyber crime. The government is in the mood to take strict action in this matter.

As per reports, the situation is getting worse for those who issue SIM cards in someone else’s name or send fraudulent messages. The government will take strict action against them. Such users will be classified as cyber security risk.

Ban will be Imposed for 3 Years

Those who issue SIM cards in someone else’s name or send fraudulent messages, they will be blacklisted and SIM cards will be blocked. Also, no connection will be given in their name for 6 months to 3 years. According to the new law, it is an offense to issue a SIM card in someone else’s name. Apart from this, sending fake messages is also classified as a punishable offence.

SIM Card will not be Issued

From 2025, those who issue SIM cards in someone else’s name or send fraudulent messages, the names of such users will be blacklisted and shared with all telecom operators, so that SIM cards will no longer be issued in their name. After preparing the list of such users, the government will send a notice to them, to which they will have to respond within 7 days.
