If you don’t want your friends and followers to see that you are online and active on Instagram, then go through this article and know the trick to hide that you are online on Instagram, and nobody will be able to tell if you are online or not.
- Open your Instagram app on your mobile.
- Tap on the profile icon at the bottom right corner of the screen to open your profile.
- Once you are on your profile, click on the three horizontal line menu option at the top right corner and Instagram Settings will open.
- Scroll down and see the section “How others can interact with you’ section.
- Under this section you will see the option ” Messages and Story replies” click to open it.
- Here you will see the section “Who can see you are online”. Under this you will see the two options:
1. Show activity status
2. Show read receipts
- Open the Show read receipts option and disable the ‘Read receipts’ option by toggle off the switch at right side.
- When this feature is turned off, you can open and read Instagram messages without leaving seen in the app. So, you can read any message in any conversation and people won’t be notified that you saw their messages.
- Go back, then open “Show activity status” section and toggle off this option.
- When this option is not enable, people won’t be able to know when you are last active on the app or if you are currently active or online.
- But, if you disable this option, you also not be able to view other peoples activity status. Your friends and followers won’t be able to tell if you are online but you also not able to see they are online or not.
By disabling both the option you can hide your online presence and appear offline always.
