What is WhatsApp Channel
WhatsApp recently launched its new feature WhatsApp Channels that allow an individual or organizations to send one-way private messages to their followers. All Channel messages are public and anyone who is a follower of your Channel will be able to see all the messages. WhatsApp channel will be used to circulate any information to a large group of people in the form of images, videos, or text. To broadcast information faster to the followers content creators and businesses can use this WhatsApp Channel. Followers cannot send messages in Channels. Update your WhatsApp to the latest version to get this feature on your Android or iOS devices.
How to Create WhatsApp Channel
- The process of creating a WhatsApp Channel is same in both the Android or iOS devices.
- Open your WhatsApp either on Android or iOS and go to the Updates tab.
- Here, you will see a Channels section with a plus icon next to it, tap on the plus icon.
- Then, tap on the option Create channel to start the process of creating the WhatsApp Channel.
- If you create a channel for the first time, then you will see a popup window with instructions. You can tap on Continue to proceed.
- You will see a couple of customization options just like a WhatsApp groups.
- Here, you can fill the channel details like enter the Channel name and Channel description and also set a profile picture. After that tap on the Create channel button and you will successfully created your very first WhatsApp Channel.
- One thing you should keep in mind that All Channel messages are public and anyone who is a follower of your Channel will be able to see all the messages.
How to Share Your WhatsApp Channel
After creating a WhatsApp Channel, it is important to know how you can share the channel. To increase your channel followers you have to share it. Thanks to the WhatsApp’s great user interface, you can easily share your channel with others.
- After creating your WhatsApp Channel, next you have to share it.
- You will find your WhatsApp Channel under the “Updates” tab.
- Open your Channel and at the top right corner you will see the Channel link button, click on that and you will see four different options to share the Channel’s link. You can select from send link via WhatsApp, Share to my status, Copy link, and Share link.
How to Delete a WhatsApp Channel
If you feel that your purpose of creating a WhatsApp channel has been fulfilled and now you want to delete that Channel, then easily you can do that.
- To delete your WhatsApp Channel, open your WhatsApp and go to the Updates tab.
- Select the Channel you want to delete by open it and at the top you will see the Channel name tap on that.
- On the Channel info page, at the bottom you will see the Delete Channel button click on that and you will see a confirmation page that informs you that this is a permanent action and all your followers will still be able to see the past messages. But no new user will be able to discover your Channel.
- Here in the confirmation page you will see a red Delete button, click on that. After that a pop-up window will then ask you to type the phone number of your WhatsApp account and tap on Delete button and your WhatsApp Channel will be deleted.
