How To Use Twitter Spaces 2022

Twitter Spaces is much like Instagram Rooms. It lets you create or join live audio rooms on the platform and enables you to start meaningful discussions. This feature is integrated directly into Twitter. So the creators don’t have to go through the hassle of build the new audience or to following, to engage with their followers. Anyone on Twitter can join your Space because Twitter Spaces are public by default.
Twitter Spaces is currently available on Android, iOS, and on web but for now discoverability of active Spaces through the dedicated Spaces tab is limited to the mobile apps. You can even schedule your Twitter Spaces and also can record the Space session.
Due to Twitter Spaces are public by default, anyone can join your space. Twitter can allow 11 people total including the host to speak in a space simultaneously but their is no limitations on the number of listener. Thousands of your followers can join in to the space at a time. If you want you can allow others to join as a listener by turning off the microphone otherwise you can keep that option open and let them decide. Those who have accounts with protected tweets they can not host a space, they can only join the spaces that hosted by other but once the session end you can’t access to that space session. Your followers will see the active Space session in the now-dead Fleets section at the top of the timeline. However, Twitter will have that copies and captions of audio for 30 days.
Start a Twitter Space Session
To start a Twitter Space, tap on the ‘+’ icon that present on the right side of the bottom. You can see the different options and can choose ‘Spaces’ from the available options. Next Twitter will ask you to name the Space and also set a topic for it. You can click on the “Add Topics” and pick up to 3 topics to help others discover your Space. You can also choose to record the Space. If you choose Record the Space, then others can tune in later. After choose the topic and your Space session recording preferences, you can set a name for your Space and to start the Space, click on the “Start your Space” button.
Schedule Twitter Spaces
If you want you can also schedule your Space. In the Space creation interface, you can Press the calendar button and choose the suitable date and time for your Space and after that click on “Next”. If you want you can also cancel or modify Space and it can schedule for later. To modify your Space schedule click on the calendar button and select the option ‘Edit’. Here you can either change the schedule or if you want you can also cancel the space schedule.
Configure Twitter Space Settings
You can see on left side bottom a mic icon is there and when you are going to create your first Twitter Space, your mic was turned off. You can enable the mic by tapping on the mic button. Next you can see on top right corner a horizontal three dots menu is there you can tap on that and choose ‘Adjust settings’ to enable or view captions. You can also minimize the Space by tapping on the down arrow present above the Space heading and while listening to a Space session you can also continue scrolling through your feed and even if you switch to any other app you won’t get disconnected from a Space.
Invite Users to Your Twitter Space
To invite people to your Space you can tap on the share button and send the invite either through Twitter DMs or you can tweet the Space link or even you can share it on other social platforms. From guest section you can manage your participants by viewing the speaker, listener and also speak request from listener you can approve here.
Join an Ongoing Twitter Space
If you are following the Space host, at the top of your timeline you can see a purple Space indicator. You can click on that indicator and click ‘Join this space’ to join the ongoing Space. After joining you can see the option where you can join either as a listener or speaker. If you want to join as a speaker your speak request have to be approved by host before you can speak in the Space . Without speak you can also convey your reactions by utilizing the emojis in Twitter Spaces. To use the emojis click on the heart with a plus icon that present on right side of the bottom and pick any emojis that you want for your reactions and every participants can see your emojis reaction on your Space Avatar.
Record Your Twitter Spaces
If you want you can also record your entire Twitter space session before start the Space. You just have to enable the “Record Space” toggle and you are ready to record your entire session. You can tweet and share your recorded Space with your follower. Public recording is available for 30 days, with in 30 days you can download the recorded Twitter Space.
How to Play Recorded Spaces
If you were busy when the Space took place or if you want to revisit the Space later then You can tune in to recorded Spaces. On a shared Spaces tweet you can tap on the ‘Play recording’ button to play a recorded Space and Twitter will open the Spaces playback user interface. In this interface you can see the various playback controls that includes play, pause, speed control, captions, seek recording by 15 seconds and many more. With background playback support you can also switch to other apps while listening to your Space record session. You can also choose to bookmark the tweet to quickly access a recorded Space and play it during the 30 days period.
End a Twitter Space Session
Once you are finish up your discussion, you can click on the ‘End’ button then click ‘Yes, End’ to confirm to close the Spaces window. Listeners can any time exist spaces easily by tap on the ‘Leave’ button otherwise every participants will automatically out from Space after host end the session.
