When you upload an Instagram short video automatically captions will be turned on . If you want to turn off the audio captions, go to the “Advanced Settings” in the upload flow and toggle “Captions” off by click on the switch. After this the auto generated captions will automatically disable your captions for all your videos going forward. To access the switch to turn on/ off the caption, tap on the overflow menu when you viewing a video and select the ”Manage captions”.
AR Closed Captions
To elevate your video in fun and creative ways easily Instagram launched a new, stylized closed caption AR effects for Reels and these are the humorous, fun, and engaging closed captions. It offers the 3 new closed caption effects that are Bubble captions, Mumble captions and Comic captions. Using this feature you can turn dialogue into text message chat (Bubble Captions), spew from your mouth (Mumble Captions), or that look straight out of a comic book (Comic Captions). You can access these effects from effects gallery.
How Does lt Work?
To use this AR effects you have to open your Instagram camera. Either before recording or after uploading from the gallery, click the effects icon and search the closed captions. From Bubble Captions, Mumble Captions, or Comic Captions you can select the effect you want to use and tap on it. You can either use the effect during the recording or you can apply the effect to the gallery content that uploaded.
