Login To Your Gmail Account Otherwise Google May Deactivate Your Account And Remove It Permanently!
If you are having an old Google accounts and you haven’t used that account in a while, then you should login to that account and take a look around once every 24 months or so. Because, Google has announced an update to its policies for inactive accounts, where Google to start deleting inactive accounts from December 2023.
If you are not logged in to your Google accounts in the last 2 years, then Google will remove your account permanently. Earlier, in old policy Google remove the content in inactive accounts to save storage space but with this new updated inactive accounts policy, the company will delete such accounts permanently. Google has clarified that this policy is only applies to personal accounts, and not those accounts managed by schools, organizations, or businesses. Those accounts will remain unaffected.
Google accounts those are not sign in or used for at least 2 years, company will delete those accounts along with its content. After delete of Google accounts, users will not be able to access their email address, Gmail messages, Calendar events, Google Photos, Google Drive, Docs, YouTube, and other Workspace files. Google said, ‘Before deleting an account, we will send multiple notifications over the months and delete both the account, the gmail account and the recovery email ,if one has been provided.
What Keeps An Google Account Active
Besides the signing in to your account periodically, being logged in and performing basic actions can counts as activity:
- sign in to your account at least once in 24 months
- Read or send an email
- Use Google Drive
- Watch a YouTube video
- Download any app on Google Play Store
- Use Google Search
- Sign in with your Google account to sign in to a third-party apps or services
- Using a signed-in Android device is also considered and count as activity.
- But before delete your account, Google will send multiple notifications to the users.
