Now You Can Edit Your Sent WhatsApp Messages Within 15 Minutes, 2023
WhatsApp, the messaging app owned by Meta, has rolled out its new feature globally, that allow its users to edit a message within 15 minutes of sending it. For now this editing feature is available for some users but in upcoming weeks it will be available for everyone. This ability to edit messages feature is an added benefit for the users of WhatsApp, because WhatsApp users already have the options if users are unhappy about any of their messages, they can simply delete that message within two days of sending them. But now instead of deleting the message users can edit that message.
To use this editing feature, WhatsApp users can long-press on sent message and choose “Edit” from the menu. This editing feature will only have 15 minutes time limit. Users can edit WhatsApp message with in 15 minutes after a message was sent.
Once the messages have been edited, Edited messages will display ‘edited’ alongside them, so both parties involved in the chat can aware of the correction without showing edit history. WhatsApp claims that messages that are edited, alongside all media and calls on the app are protected by end-to-end encryption.
This new feature may come as a relief especially those who has experienced the dread of pressing “send” too quickly on a message with an unfortunate typo or later regretted for their messages.
For the moments when you make a mistake or simply change your mind to alter the WhatsApp message you sent already, then with this new feature now you can correct the simple misspelling message to adding extra context to a message by edit your sent messages on WhatsApp.
Editing feature is already available on Telegram, Signal and Twitter. They already allow their users to edit their messages. Last year, Apple also introduced the option of unsending and editing messages sent via iMessage.
