Ration Card E-KYC will be completed on February 15th. Till now 37 lakh 85 thousand 496 people have not done E-KYC. Supply Minister of odisha appealed again to do E-KYC within 6 days. The state government will not extend the E-KYC period after Feb 15. Even then those who do not do E-KYC will be treated as surrenderers. Those cards will be canceled if E-KYC is not done. However, if the ineligibles do not return the cards, the government will take strict action, the minister warned. New people will be added, 6 lakh new beneficiaries have applied supply Minister Krishna Chandra Patra has informed.
There have been reports that about 8 lakh income tax payers have taken the card. They took ration card to get health card. The report has been received by the minister. Officers have been instructed to conduct a survey in this regard and those cards will also be cut.The minister said that action would be taken if the ineligible beneficiary lodged a written complaint about taking the card. The Supply Minister said that 12,000 ineligible ration cards have been returned so far by those who are employed or paying income tax.
