The state government is going to launch the Shahid Madho Singh Scholarship Scheme to promote the students. On the event of Teachers day, Odisha state parliamentary affairs minister Mukesh Mahaling informed that very soon state government launches a new scheme for the decrease the drop out rate of the tribal students.
Guidelines of Shahid Madho Singh Haath Kharcha Scheme has been issued. Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Department has issued further instructions. The main objective of the scheme is to reduce the dropout rate in schools. Students who have passed 8th to 9th and 10th to 11th will get 5 thousand rupees. This amount of financial assistance will be available to students belonging to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes.

To reduce the dropout rate in schools, the state government is going to launch the Shahid Madho Singh Haath-Kharcha Scholarship Scheme to promote the tribal students of the state.
The main objective of this scholarship scheme is to promoting Scheduled Tribes students in education and reducing the number of dropouts. An incentive amount of Rs 5,000 per annum will be given to them after passing the ninth and tenth and enrolling in the eleventh class.
Details of the Scheme
- Get Financial Assistance:- Every eligible students will get yearly amount of Rs 5000 to meet their educational expenses. It’s help to reduce the burden on the parents.
- No. Of Beneficiaries:- As per the data, nearly 3 lakh students will become beneficiaries of the scheme. Every year these students will get financial assistance.
- Budget Allocation:- State government will allocate 156 crores budget to implement Madho Singh Hath Kharcha Yojana.
- Direct Bank Transfer:- Government will transfer the amount to the bank account through Hastakshar yojana.
- Help to Decrease Drop out Rate:- This scheme will help to decrease the drop out rate for 9th and 10th class students.
Eligibility Criteria
- Only those who belongs to Tribal students and whose native is Odisha will be eligible for the Madho Singh Yojana.
- Both boys and girls are eligible.
- Those who already passed out 8th and 10th class and get admission in 9th and 11th class are eligible.

How to Apply for Sahid Madho Singh Hath Kharcha Scholarship Scheme, Odisha, 2024?
State government doesn’t start application process or registration process for Madho Singh Haath-Kharcha Yojana till now. Students will apply through Odisha State Scholarship Portal. Odisha State Scholarship Portal will have a separate entry screener. The educational institution principal will verify and approve the application and send it to the department. After verification direct profit will go to account through signature scheme.
