What is Smart Lock?
Android Smart Lock will allow you to add trusted locations, devices and on-body detection, so your phone will stay unlocked as long as it’s on your person. When the Smart Lock is enabled, if you are at one of your added trusted locations or connected to a trusted devices, your device will unlock automatically.
How to Enabled Smart Lock?
- To enable Smart Lock on Android, first open Settings of your Android.
- In Settings select ‘Lock screen’.
- Then, tap on ‘Smart Lock’ and enter your passcode.
- Open Smart Lock and you will see three different options. On-body detection, Trusted place and Trusted device.
On-body detection
First tap on the ‘On-body detection’, open it and you will see the option ‘Use on-body detection’. Toggle on the switch right to it to enable this option. Then, tap on ‘continue’ below.
Trusted place
- Tap on Trusted place and then tap on ‘Add Trusted place’. Your device will then automatically detect your current location.
- If you like to add a different location as a Trusted place, then type the adress of the place in search bar at the top. Tap the place when it appears in the search result.
- Then, tap on the ‘Select this location’. To confirm it, tap on Ok below.You can add multiple trusted places if you like.
- When you add one of these locations you device will stay unlocked upto 24hours.
Trusted device
- Tap on Trusted device on Smart Lock. Here you can add Trusted Bluetooth devices.
- When your Android is paired up with your Bluetooth device your Android will stay unlocked.
- Go in to your Bluetooth settings and connect the Trusted device you want to use.
- Then, go back and select the device you want to use and tap on ‘Add’ below.
