After the death of Mahsa Amini at the hands of the Iran’s ‘Morality Police’, the anti- hijab protest was going on since September last year in Iran and the Islamic Republic banned WhatsApp and Instagram as part of its measures to quell the anti-hijab protests. So, to keep running the WhatsApp service for Iranian users, despite the efforts by Iranian government to Block the app, WhatsApp launch this feature.
