If you are accidentally archived an email and now you are having a hard time to locate it, then go through this article and know how you can find archived emails on Gmail’s web and mobile apps and how to unarchive them
Find Archived Emails on Gmail Web
Unfortunately, Gmail doesn’t offer a “Archive” section to find your archived emails. But, there is a way to find the emails you have archived so far.
- To find and unarchive emails in Gmail, first open Gmail in a web browser
- From the left panel, click on ‘More’ to expand the menu.
- From the left sidebar, click on the “All Mail” section and this section shows all your emails, including the emails you have archived.
- Through search filters also you can locate your archived email.
- You can paste the following filters into the search box for better chances of tracking down your archived email: -in:Sent -in:Draft -in:Inbox has:nouserlabels
- Once you have find the email, just select it and from the top toolbar, click on the “Move to Inbox” icon.
- You can also right-click on the email and select “Move to Inbox” to bring back the email to your inbox.
Find Archived Emails on Gmail Mobile App (Android & iOS)
- To find an archived email and to unarchive it in Gmail’s mobile app, first open the Gmail app on your mobile.
- Tap the hamburger menu at left corner of the homescreen and choose the option “All mail”.
- You can also use the search filters and search box to find the archived email faster.
- In the All mail section, those emails that are not marked as “Inbox” are the ones that have been archived.
- After locating such emails, long-press on that to select it and tap on the vertical three dots menu at the top-right corner of the screen.
- Then, from the list of options that appear, choose the “Move to Inbox” option to move the email back to your primary Gmail inbox.
