Complete E-KYC by Aug 15, for LPG Subsidy; After Due Date Cylinder Subsidy may be Stopped!
It is mandatory for LPG consumers to complete their e-KYC before August 15. Failure to complete the e-KYC within the time limit may result in the cylinder being purchased at a higher price, which may result in financial burden on the consumer. After the due date, there may be difficulties in obtaining LPG cylinders and beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana may be prevented from availing government subsidies.
The beginning of August brought some relief for LPG consumers. Oil marketing companies provided relief by significantly reducing the price of 19 kg commercial LPG cylinders from August 1, 2026. However, the price of domestic gas cylinders (14 kg LPG cylinders) remained unchanged. In addition, companies have issued a warning to customers, advising them to complete their e-KYC immediately to ensure uninterrupted supply of cylinders.
Domestic LPG consumers will have to complete the Aadhaar-based e-KYC verification process by August 16. Public sector oil companies have started sending SMS alerts warning that failure to meet this deadline may lead to difficulties in purchasing LPG cylinders at the notified domestic price. Beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) will also have to complete LPG e-KYC within the stipulated time frame.
Document Required for e-KYC
To complete or update your Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) KYC before August 15, you must submit the official Ujjwala KYC Application Form along with your Aadhaar card, ration card, and bank passbook details to your local LPG distributor. Biometric e-KYC authentication may also be completed directly at the gas agency.

- Passport-size photograph

- Personal Info: Full name as per Aadhaar, date of birth, and mobile number.
- Address: Proof of address and current residential details.
- Family Composition: Details and Aadhaar numbers of all household members aged 18 and above.
- Bank Details: Account number and IFSC code for subsidy transfers.
