The e-KYC Deadline for LPG Connections has been Extended; Know the Last Date?

The e-KYC deadline for LPG connection has been extended by another week. Previously it was to end on August 16. However, there is no special assurance for users struggling to complete this mandatory process. The process has become extremely slow due to continuous server downtime and technical glitches in the app and online systems of the oil marketing company. Therefore, they are in doubt whether they can do e-KYC even after the deadline has been extended.
The e-KYC Deadline for LPG Connections has been Extended
Previousy on august 16, the e-KYC deadline for LPG connection has been extended to August 23. LPG Dealer spokesperson “Bijan Bihari Vishwas went to clarify the situation and said that the problem became very serious on August 15. The server crashed at 2:30 pm. Due to the downtime during the busiest time of the day, a large number of customers reached the dealers. As a result, the backlog has increased further. It was expected that the pressure would be somewhat reduced after the cut-off date of August 16, which was extended to August 23.” However, dealers said that the process was hampered due to technical issues. Despite the additional 7 days, only a limited number of customers have been doing e-KYC.
The last date for LPG e-KYC was August 16. Therefore, a large number of customers had to approach the dealers and queue up to get KYC done. However, due to the servers being down and not working, the crowd had increased considerably. Now, the deadline has been extended to August 23, instead of ending the technical hurdles, it has been postponed by another week. Now it has become difficult for LPG dealers to handle the crowd of customers.
How to Do e-KYC?
To keep the LPG gas connection active, e-KYC can be done in both online and offline ways. For this work, you need your Aadhaar card, PAN card and passport size photo. If you want to do offline e-KYC, then you have to go to the gas agency for this. Otherwise, you can do e-KYC sitting at home. For this, the gas user has to go to the agency website and do e-KYC.
Complete e-KYC Online
You can do e-KYC sitting at home by downloading 2 applications. Go to the Google Play Store or Apple App Store and download two Aadhaar FaceRD (Official app by UIDAI required for face scanning) and your LPG Provider’s App that are IndianOil ONE (for Indane), Hello BPCL (for Bharat Gas), or HP Pay (for HP Gas).
- First open your gas provider’s app and log in using your LPG-registered mobile number.
- Navigate to the menu, tap on LPG, and select e-KYC / Aadhaar Authentication.
- Grant camera permissions. The app will link with the Aadhaar FaceRD app to scan your face.
- Follow the on-screen prompts (like blinking) to complete the scan.
- Verify the details on your screen and click on submit. Your e-KYC will be updated instantly.
Complete e-KYC Offline
Go to your nearest local LPG gas agency office with your Aadhaar Card and LPG Consumer ID/Passbook. They will complete your biometric fingerprint or iris scan on the spot.
IMPORTANT: Beware of scams. The e-KYC process is completely free. Also do not click on any unknown links, like random WhatsApp or SMS links claiming to update your LPG details. Always use official provider apps or portals like the fficial My LPG portal.
