New Rules from November 1, 2026
Commercial Gas Cylinder Price Hike
From today, the price of commercial gas cylinder has been increased by Rs 10, after which the price of commercial LPG has become Rs 2,820. But, there is no change in the price of a 14.2 kg domestic LPG cylinder and its price in Delhi remains unchanged at Rs 942. The rise in commercial gas prices is likely to increase the operating costs of hotels, restaurants and dhabas, which is likely to make eating out a little more expensive.
GST Registration Made Easy for Co-working Space Addresses
A major relief has been implemented in the GST rules for businesses and startups from today. Businesses can now register for GST at co-working space addresses as well. For this, they will have to upload a copy of the membership agreement and a clear proof of address such as an electricity bill or house tax receipt. If you register through Aadhaar verification, the authorities will not unnecessarily check your address. Only if there is a suspicion of serious irregularities or fraud, will an inquiry be conducted. Apart from this, the process of depositing application fee, showing cause notice and GST refund has also been simplified from today.
Caller Name to be Displayed
As per the new guidelines of the Department of Telecommunications, all the telecom companies are starting Calling Name Presentation (CNAP) service from today. According to this rule, now if you get a call from an unknown number, the caller’s real KYC name i.e the name under which the SIM was purchased, will be displayed on the screen, even if that number is not saved in your phone. This new rule will make it easier to detect fraud and unwanted spam calls. Currently, this service is being launched for 4G and 5G smartphone users, which may later be implemented on 2G and 3G phones as well.
Life Certificate Submission Time for Pensioners
It is mandatory for pensioners below 80 years of age to submit their annual Life Certificate between 1st November and 30th November 2026. Pensioners can submit their Life Certificate digitally by visiting a bank branch or sitting at home using Aadhaar-based Face Authentication technology through the ‘Jeevan Pramaan App’. Those aged 80 years and above have been submitting it since 1st October.

A great news for the cancer patients and their families. The National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA) has fixed a maximum limit of 30% on trade margin on 137 non-scheduled anti-cancer drugs. This historic decision will see a massive reduction of up to 70% in the retail prices of several essential cancer medicines. The new cheaper prices will be implemented from November 9, 2026. Patients can check the revised prices on the NPPA website or the ‘Pharma Sahi Daam’ app.
