Bengaluru-Kamakhya Express derailed at Nirgundi near Manguli in Chowdwar. One person died and several passengers were injured in the accident. Rescue operations are underway at the scene. East Coast Railway has issued a helpline number after the accident.

The route of three trains has been changed after the accident. The accident occurred on the downstream line. The restoration work is expected to be completed soon. On the other hand, some passengers were injured and were immediately rescued and admitted to Cuttack SCB Medical College. Meanwhile, due to the intense heat, passengers are facing a lot of problems. Passengers have complained about not getting drinking water.

It is worth noting that on Sunday, the Bengaluru-Guwahati Kamakhya Express derailed near Cuttack Chowdwar-Manguli station at 11.54 am. The East Coast Railway has received information that 11 bogies of the express have been derailed. The bogies from B-6 to B-14 of the train have fallen off the track. The bogies of the train have fallen off the track and landed in the nearby forest and fields. As a result, many passengers jumped off the train. It is said that the death toll may rise due to this. The railways have informed that other trains scheduled to run on this line have been cancelled.
