The 20th installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme will be disbursed on Saturday, August 2. In this context, a high-level meeting was held in New Delhi yesterday under the chairmanship of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. The meeting reviewed preparations to ensure that the benefits of the program reach the maximum number of farmers. Under the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, every farmer will get Rs 2,000.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lead the program in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. In the meeting, Shri Chouhan directed the officials to connect farmers with the program at the national, state, district and village levels and called for organizing the program as a nationwide campaign. He also urged farmers across the country to participate in this program.
The Minister highlighted that under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, Rs. 6,000 is being transferred to farmers in three installments under this scheme, each installment will be released every four months. In 20 installments, more than Rs 20,500 crore will go directly to the bank accounts of more than 9.7 crore farmers in the country.
