We all use cooking gas. All LPG consumers have to buy fuel at market price. However, the government subsidises 12 cylinders of 14.2 kilogram each per household in a year by directly transferring the subsidy amount to the user’s bank accounts. But have you checked your bank account recently to see if you received the subsidy money or not? Government sends LPG subsidy amount directly to the Aadhaar linked bank accounts of the customers through PAHAL (DBTL) scheme. Often, subsidy money gets stopped due to lack of bank account linking or e-KYC. Now there is no need to go to the gas agency to check your subsidy status. What is PAHAL (DBTL) scheme?
The government’s PAHAL (DBTL) scheme ensures that LPG cylinders subsidy are provided directly to the Aadhaar linked bank accounts of the customers. Meanwhile, the government has already given out 8 crore free LPG connections to poor women under Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana(PMUY) to increase coverage of environment-friendly fuel in kitchens.
How to Check Status of Your Gas Subsidy Amount?
- Whether you have an Indane, Bharat Gas or HP Gas connection, you can check the status from a single portal.
- First go to the website myhpgas.in or mylpg.in in your phone browser.
- Select the company by clicking on your gas company from the three gas cylinders (Indane, Bharat, HP) on the homepage.
- If you don’t have an account, go to ‘New User’ and register, if you have an account, then click on ‘Sign In’.
- After logged in, click on ‘Give Your Feedback Online’ or ‘LPG Services’ option.
- Then select ‘PAHAL (DBTL)’ or ‘Subsidy Related (PAHAL)’ option.
- Click on ‘Subsidy Not Received’ and enter your registered mobile number or 17-digit LPG ID.
- Once you click on the ‘Submit’ button, a complete list of your previous bookings and subsidies transferred to the bank will appear.
Reasons for Not Receiving the Subsidy Amount
If the status is showing ‘Failed’ in the list or the money has not come for a long time, then there could be 3 main reasons for this.
- Aadhaar and Bank Link: Your Aadhaar card is not linked with your bank account.
- e-KYC Pending: Aadhaar e-KYC is not updated with the gas agency.
- Annual Income Limit: As per government rules, subsidy is not available if the annual income is Rs 10 lakh or more.
What to Do?
- Go to your gas agency and update your e-KYC immediately by providing a copy of your Aadhaar card and bank passbook.
- Check if your bank account is activated for ‘DBT’.
- Make sure to check the subsidy status from your mobile once in every month or two months.
