Toll Rules Changed: Now you will Only Pay Toll Tax for the Distance you Drive on the Highway!

If you often travel on National Highways or Expressways, then this new rule of NHAI has brought a big relief to you. The government has completely replaced the old formula for collecting toll tax and implemented a new system.
Toll Rules Changed
It will no longer be possible to collect arbitrary tolls from highway drivers. The direct objective of this new rule is to reduce the burden on the pockets of crores of motorists across the country and make their journey easier. Let us know how your highway journey is going to be cheaper and easier with the new toll formula.
Pay Toll Tax for the Distance you Drive on Highway
It is worth noting that under the old rules, even if you were travelling only 10 or 15 km on the highway, you still had to pay the specified charge at the toll plaza for the entire 60 km. This system has been completely eliminated under the new rules. Now, you will only have to pay tax for the distance you drive on the highway. With the implementation of the satellite-based GPS toll collection system, only the exact distance you have traveled will be deducted from your account, benefiting those travelling on shorter routes the most.
Now, the long traffic jams at toll plazas are also going to end completely. Through the new automated system, vehicles can cross the toll plaza without stopping, thus getting rid of the long queues at the barriers. When vehicles do not start and stop for no reason, fuel consumption will also be reduced to a great extent and time will also be saved.
