Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana (SSY): How to Transfer Money to your Sukanya Samriddhi Account Online?

If you have opened an account under the Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana (SSY) to secure your daughter’s future and frequently visited the post office or bank branch to diposit your money under the scheme, then, you no longer have to visit the post office or bank branch. You can transfer money to your Sukanya Samriddhi account online using your mobile phone, sitting at home.

How to Transfer Money to your Sukanya Samriddhi Account Online?

Whether your daughter has an account in any bank (like SBI, PNB, HDFC) or at the post office, you can simply transfer money to your Sukanya Samriddhi account.

Transfer Money to Sukanya Samriddhi Postal Account Online

If you have a Sukanya Samriddhi account in the post office, you can transfer money online through the India Post Payments Bank (IPPB) app.

  • Download the IPPB app from Google Play Store or App Store and log in using your MPIN. Please note that basic charges may apply while opening a new account.
  • After this, add the amount you want to deposit into your Sukanya Samriddhi account to your IPPB account using UPI or debit card.
  • After completing this process, scroll down on the home screen of your app and click on the DOP Services option.
  • Select the Sukanya Samriddhi Account (SSA) option from the list.
  • Enter your SSY account number and Post Office Customer ID (DOP Customer ID) and click on Continue.
  • It is mandatory to deposit a minimum of Rs. 250 in Sukanya Samriddhi Account.
  • After the transfer is successful, save the confirmation message or screenshot in your passbook until it is accessed.
  • To keep the account active, make at least the minimum deposit every financial year (before March 31).

Transfer Money to Sukanya Samriddhi Bank Account Online

If your Sukanya Samriddhi account is opened with a commercial bank, you can use your bank’s mobile app or net banking.

  • Log in to your bank’s official mobile app or internet banking. Then, click on the Funds Transfer or Pay & Transfer option in the main menu.
  • If you are sending money for the first time, then go to ‘Add Beneficiary’.
  • Enter your daughter’s SSY account number and the IFSC code of the relevant branch and save it.
  • Once the account is activated, select the beneficiary and enter the amount you want to transfer (minimum Rs. 250).
  • Now enter your transaction PIN or the OTP received on your registered mobile number.
  • Your amount will be credited to your account instantly.
  • You can also set up the auto-debit feature in your app, which will automatically deposit money into your Sukanya account on a specific date every month or year.
