How to Fix Slow 5G Network Issue?
Verify 5G Network Connection
To fix your slow 5G network issue first things to do is to confirm that, whether your phone is connected to a 5G network or not.
- To check whether your phone is connected to a 5G network, open Settings of your phone.
- Go to Mobile Network or Cellular settings.
- Look under Network Type or Preferred Network.
- Ensure 5G is selected or shown in the list of active connections. If not then first enabled 5G.
Close Background Apps
Running multiple background apps can slow down your internet connection and drain your data.
- For iPhone users, double-tap the home button or swipe up and pause to view open apps.
- For Android users, swipe up from the bottom and hold to access recent apps. Swipe away the apps that you are not using to boost your internet speed and improve your mobiles overall performance.
Toggle on and off Airplane Mode
A quick way to reset your connection is to toggle on and off Airplane mode. Toggling Airplane mode on and off can cuts all wireless signals, clear minor glitches and forcing your phone to reconnect to the nearest cell tower for a faster, cleaner connection.
- Swipe down from the top of your screen to open the Quick Settings (Android) or Control Center (iPhone).
- Turn Airplane Mode on by tapping on it.
- Wait about 10 to 15 seconds.
- Tap the icon again to turn off Airplane Mode to reconnect to the network. This can help re-establish a stronger, faster 5G signal.
Clear Cache Regularly
To fix a slow or broken internet connection, clearing your browser cache deletes saved temporary files that may be corrupted.
For Android Users
Clear Google Chrome Browser Cache
- Open the Chrome browser.
- Tap the three vertical dots present on top right corner of the screen.
- Scroll down and select History.
- Tap on Clear browsing data.
- Then, set Time Range to All time.
- Check the box Cached images and files and Cookies and site data.
- Tap on Clear data at below.
Clear Individual App Cache
- Open your phone’s Settings app.
- Tap on Apps & Notifications.
- Select the app you want to clear e.g. Instagram, YouTube, etc.
- Tap on Storage or Storage & cache.
- Tap on Clear cache.
For iPhone Users
Clear Safari Browser Cache
- Open the iPhone Settings app.
- Scroll down and tap on Safari.
- Then, tap on Clear History and Website Data.
- Choose the All history time frame.
- Tap on Clear History to confirm.
