New Rules From August 1, 2026: From Tatkal Tickets Booking to LPG Cylinders, All the Rules will Change
Today is August 1, 2026. A new month is about to begin. From today, there are big changes in many important rules for the common man, starting from family budgets to financial transactions. New Rules From August 1, 2026
- Gas Cylinder Price Change
On the first of every month, national oil companies review the prices of gas cylinders. As part of this process, the new prices for domestic and commercial LPG cylinders have been implemented from August 1. Since August 1, the price of a 19 kg commercial LPG cylinder has been reduced by more than Rs 200. In Kolkata, the price of a 19 kg commercial LPG cylinder has been reduced by Rs 209. In Delhi, the price has been reduced by Rs 202. After this price reduction, the price of a 19 kg commercial LPG cylinder in Delhi is now Rs 2,728. This new price has been implemented from today.
However, there is no change in the price of a 14.2 kg LPG cylinder used for domestic cooking. The price of commercial gas cylinders was increased last month. However, the daily revision system of retail prices of petrol and diesel continues as before.
- Penalty for Late Tax Returns
The last date for filing unaudited income tax returns (ITR) for salaried taxpayers was July 31, 2026. This last date has now expired. Those filing their returns using ITR-1 or ITR-2 forms will have to pay a hefty late fee. This penalty will be determined based on your gross taxable income. So, if you have not yet filed your return, complete it as soon as possible to avoid additional financial burden.
- Changes in Credit Card Rules
On the other hand, many major banks have tightened their credit card rules from today. The rules have been revised. This includes everything from reward points, late payment charges and processing fees. Card users should review their bank’s new terms and conditions carefully to avoid any unexpected charges while paying their bills.
- Token System for Tatkal Tickets
The Railways has brought a new assurance for passengers travelling by train. From today, a token system for Tatkal tickets has been implemented at the reservation counter of West Central Railway Station. Passengers will no longer have to stand in long queues. You will get a token before reaching the counter, and tickets will be issued in that order. This will facilitate the entire booking process.
- CKYC 2.0 Implemented
In addition, Central KYC (CKYC) 2.0 is being implemented in phases to further secure the banking system. You will no longer have to submit KYC documents repeatedly to banks or insurance companies. The new system will make verification faster, more secure and transparent.
